Welcome to KARES: Kohala Animal Relocation and Education Services. We are a non-profit, foster based organization funded purely by donations. We rescue, take in, spay/neuter and adopt out pets in our community. Our goal is to educate the public on the best pet care possible, to relocate animals from bad situations or take care of pets loved by those who can no longer keep them. Help us reach our goals. Adopt, Foster or Donate. We need peoples time, money and passion. We need homes to harbor those in need. Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you will find someone you love.
Kohala Animal Relocation and Education Service's mission is to provide temporary shelter, foster care and adoption to Kohala area dogs and cats and to be a society for the prevention of animal cruelty in North Kohala, Hawaii. Our focus will be on educating the island community regarding animal stewardship, population control and the prevention of animal cruelty. We will work with a team of veterinarians to offer low cost spay/neuter clinics, establish trap/neuter/return (TNR) programs and to do any other thing we deem may improve the treatment of animals, including their relations with humans.
KARES is a 501 (c) (3) non profit charitable organization

Suki is under 2 years old (we think) and needs a new home with someone who can give her the opportunity to warm up. She's quiet and bashful, but does warm up to her new family fairly quickly. She needs a secure yard. She LOVES other dogs and would be a great play companion to any dog small or large. Give this quiet soul a chance, she'll soon be in your arms and in your bed... if you let her.
